MEDITATION

All day long our time, energy and attention is spent focused on what is happening in our outer world. We believe our happiness lies in someone or something outside of our self.

Yoga Meditation

We believe when we finally meet the right person, find the perfect job, start our own business, find financial freedom, buy our dream house, start our retirement.

...then we will be happy.

Yet we continually find ourselves frustrated and disappointed.

We blame the people and circumstances in our life for the pain and misery we feel. If only they would change... if only I was married... if only I was single... if only I was rich... if only I lived somewhere else…if only I had time... then I would surely be happy.

Continuing to focus on someone or something outside of yourself for your own happiness, for your own peace of mind, for your own sense of security, will only serve to bring you more pain and disappointment.

The answers are not found outside of your self.

The answers are within you.

You are the place to start looking for the happiness you seek.

The answers you are searching for are already there.

They are simply waiting to be discovered.

Within you.

Meditation is the pathway within.

To create a sense of balance in your life it is necessary to bring the same kind of attention you pay to what is happening outside of yourself to what is happening within you.

The same kind of scrutiny you bring to your partners, friends and family members needs to be directed inward.

What thoughts are you telling yourself? What sensations are you aware of in your body? What does your emotional world feel like? What kind of internal life are you living?

Whatever is happening in your inner world is what you are creating in your outer world.

If you are driven by thoughts of not being enough, your life will reflect not enough...

as in not enough money,
not enough time,
not enough love,
not enough passion.

"We are what we think. All that we are arises with our thoughts.
With our thoughts we create our world."
Buddha

Turning your attention inward will begin this journey to your own self. Once you discover what you are telling yourself from within, you become the master of your own destiny.

When you begin to turn your attention inward, you may be surprised to discover what you are actually saying to yourself.

This chatter of the mind is a barrier to what is happening in your heart and disconnects you from being in your body.

Your body is where you feel. Since feeling is often associated with pain, hurt and the emotional wounds you have suffered, you use your mind to distract you so your attention stays up in your head, away from your body.

And although this keeps you from feeling pain, it also keeps you from feeling pleasure... the simple and sweet sensations that open your heart, connect you to your humanity and bring you joy.

Your heart is the source of your inner wisdom but your mind creates a barrier to listening to this voice.

The mind easily gets your attention by screaming from within.

The voice of your heart speaks in whispers. You must be still and quiet in order to hear it.

Meditation helps access this inner voice by slowing down your thoughts and giving space to actually hear what is happening within you.

You learn to release the attachment and importance you have given to your thoughts.

As your attention turns inward, your energy begins to concentrate in your core.

No longer is your energy scattered.

No longer do you feel like you are running in ten different directions.

You are present to your energy, here and now.

With practice, your energy focuses inward... and from the core of your being it begins to expand outward.

From your core, this outward expansion of your energy is directed like the force of an arrow.

Techniques Meditation

Your energy becomes centered and focused, like a tree, whose roots reach deep into the earth to allow its branches to reach high towards the heavens.

In meditation, your energy becomes centered within, reaching deep, soaring high.

You become the master of your own energy, directing your attention in the direction of your own desires, not simply reacting to circumstances and events.

You begin to feel more connected to your body.

You begin to feel more connected to your life.

You begin to feel more connected to others.

You begin to feel more connected to all.

You discover your right to be here... your right to simply be. And you are enough, just as you are.

There is no need to be or do anything different because you are perfect just as you are.

With all these wonderful benefits to meditation you might wonder how to get started.

Just start, wherever you are, a few minutes a day. And once you feel the benefits that meditation brings to your life, those few minutes will grow. Instead of saying you don’t have the time to meditate, you will begin to create the time.

Meditation helps bring clarity and peace to the mind.

Meditation is a practice. A practice because to feel you have "arrived", with nothing more to gain, leaves no room for further growth.

Meditation is an endless unfolding into the vast and infinite being that you are.

Meditation will allow you to enjoy the journey of life and discover its depths. It is an ever deepening process into your self.
