Prayer BundlesWhat you will need:
For instance you may want to create more financial abundance. You might be asking for clarity about your next step in life. You might want to release a habit or way of relating that no longer serves you. Be clear on your intention since this is essential to the process. You can also create a prayer bundle for someone else whom you would like to send good intentions to for health, wealth and happiness or to offer prayers for a successful outcome in a business or personal endeavor. If you are looking for guidance on creating intentions, see my Success Journal & CD. Make sure you create time and space for this process that is free from distractions. It can take as much or as little time as you like. It is your ceremony so let your inner voice guide you. This action of making your prayer bundle is a way to communicate with God, your higher source or divine wisdom, however it is you define Spirit for yourself. Gather the items you will need. The items mentioned above are merely suggestions so feel free to use whatever Earth elements you have on hand. A prayer bundle is your offering to Spirit. The items used are to “feed” your prayers or intentions. Once you have created your intention you will energetically transfer it to your stone. Stones, rocks and crystals are able to hold our intentions simply through the transfer of our own attention and intention. You can place your stone in your left hand, the more receptive side of our body, and if necessary you can use your right hand underneath for support. As you hold your stone simply hold your intentions or prayers in your mind. Feel them transfer to the stone and offer a sense of gratitude to the stone for holding your prayers for you. In shamanic traditions the breath is a powerful tool for activating the transfer of energy so finish this part of the ceremony by blowing into your stone. Now place your stone in the center of your felt cloth. You can now use a variety of items to feed and nurture your intention. As mentioned above this can include rice, grains, dried beans. I like to include cocoa powder to honor the Incan tradition on which this ceremony is based. Sugar crystals can be added to bring sweetness to our life. Salt is helpful for removing negativity and obstacles to our path. Flowers and herbs can be used, especially if certain plants are significant for you in some way. Perhaps there is an abundance of lavender in your garden, or you love the smell of roses. Find things that call to you in some way so they feel like they have some meaning or significance. As you sprinkle these items over your stone maintain an attitude of gratefulness and appreciation, honoring yourself for taking the time to create this sacred space for yourself and honoring Spirit for joining you in this process. Spirit loves Ceremony! Once your bundle is full of your offerings you simply wrap it up with string or twine like a gift. You can place a flower, herb or plant on the outside of your bundle to represent and hold any forgotten prayers or intentions, things you wish you would have added are held here so this process will always feel complete. Your bundle is then buried in the Earth by digging a hole someplace that feels sacred to you, offering your prayers to the transformative energy of the Earth. I like to add seeds before placing the bundle in as another offering of gratitude and to assist my intentions in “growing” imagining the seeds holding the potential of my prayers. The bundle can be buried right away or you may choose to wait for a significant day or date in your life. Or you can follow the cycles of the moon and bury your prayers for release during the full moon or prayers for manifesting during the new moon, supporting bringing in something new as the moon grows in intensity.
